The Reality Of How Mental Illness Feels…

Mental illness creeps up again when you finally start to feel okay. You start to feel a roller coaster of emotions all over again. Once again you are trapped inside your thoughts.

Depression watches you and as soon as you see a glimpse of happiness it drops you back down to reality because it wants you numb 24/7! Depression makes you feel like you’re drowning while everyone watches you.

Anxiety makes you please others because you care more about what they think, then what you think. Anxiety is that little voice in your head that makes you fear everything because you don’t want to be rejected.

Eating Disorders make you do certain things so you can punish yourself. Eating disorders make you say it’s not good enough even though you just lost 20lbs! Someone with an eating disorder will never meet their expectations of what their body should look like.

Every mental illness has triggers that makes it worse so the last thing you need is someone judging you. If you don’t have mental illness then don’t judge others that do, it just makes it harder for them to recover.

These are just some of the aspects of what mental illness feels like. There is much more feelings it brings. These are just a few of the big ones I’ve personally had. Have a great day!

Thank you,

Ashleigh Christine 🙂

Hi my name is Ashleigh. I was bullied a lot in my life and I was always scared to stand up for myself. I started battling mental illness at a young age. I also really love makeup! I’ve always wanted to start a blog, and decided to so, my story could hopefully help someone. I hope some of the things here help you or someone you know.
